Heather Mueller
Heather Mueller has over 15 years of experience in developing and optimizing patent portfolios. She specializes in patent strategy, licensing, drafting patent related agreements, patent analysis (including opinion letters), product clearance, patent searching, patent prosecution and IP due diligence. Currently, her primary technical areas include circuit design, medical devices, software, solar energy systems and toys. Heather regularly visits the Silicon Valley to meet with her many clients in that area.
Prior to founding The Mueller Law Office, Heather was Associate Chief IP Counsel at Siemens Corporation where she handled complex IP issues and managed patent attorneys and staff in the Siemens' West Coast Office. She obtained broad legal experience including leading patent license negotiations, being a key member of license negotiation teams for major patent cross-licenses, handling third party allegations, handling due diligences for both acquisitions and venture capital investment, drafting various technology and patent related agreements, and overseeing patent portfolios and patent prosecution. Her primary technical areas included telecommunications, semiconductor devices, medical systems and software.
Heather began her legal career at Townsend and Townsend and Crew as a member of the Electrical and Electronics Patent Prosecution Group, where she specialized in drafting patent applications and other patent related documents. She also participated in patent license negotiations and wrote patent opinion letters.
Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Management (Cum Laude) from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Heather is a member of the California State Bar and registered to practice with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Aashish Garg
Aashish Garg has over 5 years of experience working with technology based startup companies as a consultant and a principal as well extensive experience negotiating real estate and contractual legal issues. Currently, his primary technical areas include web 2.0, mobile phones, and software development.
Prior to his involvement in patents, Aashish served as a Telecommunications Acquisition Consultant at FMHC Corporation on a nation-wide fourth generation network implementation. He was also a Product Manager for a mobile phone based application development while at Lambent Technologies.
Aashish holds a Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan College of Engineering in Ann Arbor, Michigan and a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in San Diego, California. Aashish is a member of the California State Bar and a licensed Broker.
L. Jon Lindsay
Jon has over seventeen years of patent experience including preparing and prosecuting patent applications, appealing cases to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, managing a corporate patent portfolio, developing corporate IP strategy, evaluating patentability of inventions, supporting IP licensing, preparing infringement and validity opinions, and investigating alleged patent infringements. Jon has extensive patent experience with electrical devices, mechanical devices, computer hardware, software, storage devices, printers, digital and analog circuitry, medical electronics and devices, semiconductor processes and systems, and civil/structural engineering.
Jon began his patent career with Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston, Texas, where he was a Group Intellectual Property Counsel. Jon has been in private practice now for eleven years. Before entering the patent law field, Jon was an attorney in general litigation.
Jon holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston, Texas, and a J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He is a member of both the Colorado and Texas State Bars and a Registered Patent Attorney before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Grace Schulz
Grace Schulz has over 10 years of patent experience including performing prior art searches, conducting design-arounds, analyzing claim coverage, and drafting patent applications and other patent related documents. Currently, her primary technical areas include solar energy systems, medical devices and toys.
Before entering the patent field, Grace served as Director of Research and Development for VNUS Medical Technologies. She was also a project development engineer for Guidant (now Boston Scientific). Her R&D career included developing cardiovascular catheters from concept through market launch, being involved with regulatory filings, and participating in animal studies and clinical trials. Grace is a named inventor on eight patents.
Grace holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, California. Her honors include being named Purdue Outstanding Senior Engineer and being awarded a National Science Foundation Fellowship. Grace is registered to practice with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
